Police solves blind murder case

SRINAGAR, Dec 14:  Police in Sopore today solved a blind murder case within 24 hours of killing of one Ghulam Mohammad Tantary.
A police spokesman said: “On December 12, 2015, some unknown persons killed Ghulam Mohammad Tantary when he was returning to home from his routine work late in the evening.
Sopore police registered a case in this regard and constituted a special investigation team (SIT) under the supervision of SSP Sopore Abdul Qayoom headed by SDPO Rafiabad Shabir Khan and SHO Police Station Dangiwacha Peerzada Attiqullah.”
The investigation team picked two suspects, Khurshid Ahmad Malla son of Bashir Ahmad Malla and Zahid Ahmad Katroo son of Mushtaq Ahmad Katroo residents of Ambarpora Tarzoo, Sopore.
“The duo was questioned and during questioning it come to fore that the family of Khurshid Ahmad Malla was interested in marriage with the family member of deceased, which was not accepted by the deceased and this frustrated Khurshid Ahmad. On 12th of this month in the evening Khurshid along with his friend Zahid Ahmad hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Tantray. In the evening hours, when the deceased was about to enter his house, Khurshid attacked with a sharp edged weapon on his neck, while Zahid was assisting him. Both the attackers fled from the spot after locals raised hue and cry. Ghulam Mohammad breathed his last while he was being shifted to hospital”, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said: “The weapon of the offence was seized from the scene of occurrence and its preliminary investigation revealed that it was a planned murder.
A case FIR number 67/2015 under section 302 RPC was registered in Police Station Dangiwacha, Sopore in this regard.”
