Police solves Darhal murder case, produces challan

RAJOURI, Mar 29: The police claimed to have solved the murder case of an elderly man  and attempt to murder of some of his family members at village Ujhan Margan in Darhal, with the arrest of seven persons.
SSP Rajouri had framed Special Investigation Team to solve this case under SDPO Thannamandi Iftikhar Choudhary.  The SIT  established offense against ten persons with seven of them arrested so far. The case was solved within two months and challan produced  in the court of law.
Giving brief facts of the case, a police spokesman said that   on January 13, 2018, an incident took place in Ujhan Margan village falling under Darhal Police Station in which several members of a family were assaulted with sharp edged weapons and were shifted to local hospital and then to District Hospital, Rajouri.
Soon after the incident was reported to police,  team from Darhal Police Station headed by SHO  moved to the spot. A  case  FIR No. 07/2018 U/S 307, 452, 336, 147, 148, 323, 34 RPC was registered in this connection.
Injured including Abdul Hamid, son of Makhna; Mohd Zabar, son of  Juma; Abdul Aziz, son of Makhan Din; Juma, son of Karam Din; Noor Jahaan, wife of Juma; Sawar Jahan, wife of Makhna; Makhan Din, wife of Karam Din; all residents of Ujhan Margan were removed to  Rajouri  hospital from where one of the injured,  Juma, son of Karam Din, was  referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu, who later succumbed there.
The case in FIR 07/2018 registered after the incident was also converted as murder case and 302 RPC was added in it while to ensure speedy investigation of case, a Special Investigation Team was framed on the directions of SSP Rajouri,  Yougal Manhas and SDPO Thannamandi Iftikar  Choudhary was made the Incharge of the team while SHO Darhal, Habib Pathan alongwith other officers were members of it.
After hectic efforts and subsequent raids conducted at  multiple places in the district as well as outside,  seven accused persons were arrested.
During investigation, the police established offences against ten accused  persons namely- Ghulam Abbas, Ghulam Nabi and Mohd Farooq- sons of Lal Din, resident of Margan Ujhan; Maqbool Hussain, son of Said Mohammad; Mohd Latif, son of Mohd Younis; Mohd Layaqat,  son of Mohd Latif; Mohd Younis and Mohd Yousaf,  sons of Ghulam Abbas; Mohd Shakeel and Mohd Akhter,  sons of Ghulam Nabi.
After proving the charges against above mentioned ten accused persons,  a challan  has been produced in the local court.
Three of the accused  namely- Mohd Shakeel, son of Ghulam Nabi; Mohd Akhter,  son of Ghulam Nabi and Mohd Yousaf, son of Ghulam Abbas are still absconding while a warrant  stands issued against them.
It was established that there was a long pending land dispute between two families at  Ujhan Margan village for which both sides even clashed with each other several times in the past for which four separate cases were registered in previous years and all stand challaned in the court of law.
