SRINAGAR, July 24: Police have solved a hit and run case in two days by arresting the driver along with the vehicle.
A police spokesman said that an unknown Sumo hit Scooty driven by Bashir Ahmad Parray at Pantha Chowk in the city outskirts on July 22. Bashir was injured and later on succumbed at SKIMS Soura.
The accused driver Mohammad Shafi Mir of Tral in south Kashmir, meanwhile, was arrested by police and the Sumo bearing registration number JK03B/8646 seized.
A case under FIR No. 59/15 under Sections 279, 337, 304 A RPC has been registered against him, the police spokesman added.
