Police take 3 Hurriyat leaders into preventive custody

 

Jammu-Kashmir Police has put three Hurriyat leaders under preventive detention ahead of their pre-planned protest in Valley. The leaders were previously interrogated in a money laundering case.

The detained have been identified as Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah and Raja Mairaj ul din Kalwal, who are said to be in close circle of Hurriyat leader SA Geelani.

According to reports, the police raided the houses of these leaders and arrested them. Police also raided the residence of another Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Pir Saifullah, however he was not present.

Tahreeki Hurriyat confirmed the arrests but did not confirm the charges on which the arrest has been made.
