Police vehicle falls in gorge, 4 cops injured

RAMBAN, Dec 16: Four cops were injured here after a Police vehicle they were onboard skidded off the road and landed in a gorge in Chambalwass area of Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Saturday evening.
Sources informed said that a Police vehicle bearing registration number JK02-4560 while on its way to Srinagar from Doda went out of control of the driver and plunged into a gorge leaving the four cops onboard injured.
On getting information about the accident a Police team along with local volunteers rushed to the spot and shifted all the four injured cops to Sub District Hospital Banihal.
The injured cops were identified as Adil Nazir, son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Hazratbal, Srinagar; Mehraj-ud-Din, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Noor Bagh, Srinagar; Sajad Ahmed, son of Assadullah, resident of Qazigund and Parvaiz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Anantnag, Kashmir.
Doctors treating them informed that three cops sustained minor injuries and one suffered a fracture in arm.
