Police works out theft case, recovers stolen items worth over Rs 6 lakh

SAMBA , June 4: In a major breakthrough, Samba Police under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, has worked out a theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Samba with the arrest of three thieves and recovered stolen items.
Police said on May 26 , a written complaint was lodged at PS Samba by the Sub Divisional Engineer, Telcom BSNL, Samba regarding theft of BTS/DRU Cards from BSNL towers located at Pushwali Mandi, Barian and Mananu in the jurisdiction of PS Samba.
A case FIR No. 128/2022 U/S 379 IPC was registered at PS Samba in this regard and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a police team of PS Samba headed by SHO, Inspector, Deepak Jasrotia under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters, Samba, Mohammad Usman had rounded up several suspects for preliminary enquiry and finally succeeded in the arrest of three accused who have confessed their involvement in the commission of the crime. The accused persons have been identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Sudesh Kumar of Lalyana, tehsil Bishnah, district Jammu, Sunil Dutt son of Tilak Raj of Ratnal, tehsil Bishnah, district Jammu and Sandeep Kumar son of Ram Paul of Chambian Brahmana, tehsil Bishnah, district Jammu.
Further, on their disclosure, eight of BTS/DRU Cards worth Rs 6.32 lacs were recovered from their possessions. Further investigation of the case is going on.
