Political reservation to STs, enactment of FRA milestones in history of J&K: Pathania

UDHAMPUR, Nov 2: Ranbir Singh Pathania, Spokesperson J&K, BJP while addressing new entrants, particularly from Gujjar-Bakerwal community, as well as party cadres at community hall, Dehma, said that grant of political reservations to STs as well as enactment of Forest Rights Act in J&K has boxed the compass in the field of empowering ‘tribals’ and is a milestone in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The forest dwellers had been living in state of uncertainty with the Department of Forests and vested interests creating sporadic, tight corners for them. But with the enactment of Forest Rights Act these forest dwellers have been brought under a net of this legislation which had been in operation in the entire country since decades”, he added.
He said that it is only Bharatiya Janata Party’s top leaders who have virtually turned the tables. Today the message and posturing is loud and clear that backward and marginalized sections of society will be accorded topmost priority and consideration by the Government, he stated.
He called upon the Department of RDD and HUDD to stick to the relevant guidelines and datelines too with regard to ‘providing housing to all- PMAY/PMJAY’. There are dozens of cases where deserving cases have been left out due to lackadaisical approach of authorities and vested interests, he stated.
Pathania was accompanied by Kuldeep Singh, General Secretary BJP District Udhampur, Shiv Ram Mandal General Secretary, Makhan Lal Mandal Vice President, Ashok Kumar Mandal SC President, Hari Ram Mandal OBC President, Shokat Ali District ST General Secretary, Sham Lal Vistarak Majalta Mandal, Mohan Lal Sharma, Surinder Singh, Romesh Gupta, Manoj Verma, Raman Khajuria, Soma Devi and Nisha Devi, all sarpanches, Baldev Singh, Ved Sharma, etc.
