LEH, Sept 21: J&K Legislative Council Chairman Haji Anayat Ali today said that the political situation in the Jammu and Kashmir State has completely changed after granting UT status to J&K and Ladakh and now regional party has no role left.
While addressing the media at BJP office, here today, Haji explained that he had joined BJP party along with all PDP workers in Kargil district to bring development in the region and not for self interest. “Kargil region had never demanded UT but Union Government has granted the same and now people must accept it. People of Leh and Kargil need to sit together for the smooth functioning of UT and people in Kargil realizing the importance of UT,” he stressed.
Hailing the former Minister Cherring Dorjay’s contribution in the uniform development of Kargil and Zanskar region, Haji added that no minister in Ladakh had done such work that had been done by Cherring Dorjay during his tenure. Speaking about Buddhist Monastery construction issue in Kargil, Haji said that if people of Kargil had no objection in constructing Gurudwara and Mandir in Kargil why can’t Buddhist Monastery/Sarai can be made in Kargil and added that it was nothing but a petty politics created by some leaders.
MLC Cherring Dorjay said that joining of Haji Anayat Ali the BJP party will bridge the gap between Leh and Kargil and added that those who are protesting against UT have no option but to accept it wholeheartedly.
BJP Leh unit President Dorjay Angchuk said that people from Zojila to Demchok and Zanskar to Turtuk wholeheartedly welcome the UT and many people were joining BJP as Modi led Government brought tremendous development in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, retired SSP Tsering Gyalpo, who also joined BJP recently, assured that Changthang region will wholeheartedly support BJP especially in securing the all the Council seats during upcoming Council election next year.
Former Minister Sat Sharma and other BJP leaders were also present during the media briefing.
Earlier BJP party workers gave warm reception to Haji Anayat Ali on his arrival in Leh.
