JAMMU, Oct 21: The killing of seven innocent people by the terrorists in Gagangir area of Ganderbal district on Sunday was strongly condemned by several political and social organization as well as their leaders.
Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Ghulam Ali Khatana expressed deep sorrow over the killings. In his statement, Khatana said, “What the terrorists are doing on Indian soil is entirely un-Islamic. God will never be pleased by killing innocent people in the name of religion”. He further assured that those responsible for this heinous act will face the full force of the law. “The terrorists behind this atrocity will not be spared and will face the harshest response from our security forces,” he said. Khatana extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
Describing the heinous incident as an act of cowardice, the Deputy Chief Minister extended deepest condolences to the grieving families of the victims. He prayed for peace and strength to the bereaved families during this time of immense sorrow. He wished for speedy recovery of those injured in the attack. “Such acts of terror will not deter our resolve for heralding peace and unity. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” he maintained. The Deputy CM reiterated the Government’s determination to bring the perpetrators to justice and enhance security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Sakina Itoo and Minister for RDD and Agriculture, Javid Ahmad Dar today visited Naidgam Budgam to condole the demise of Dr Shahnawaz, who had been killed in a terrorist attack at Gagangir in Ganderbal on Sunday evening. They strongly condemned the killing of Dr Shahnawaz, and other 6 persons, in the Gagangir terrorist attack. The Ministers extended deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. They prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and assured the family that the Government will provide necessary support during this challenging time.
BJP National general secretary Tarun Chugh expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. He added that the brutal killing of innocent workers at a construction project reflected the extreme cowardice of the terrorists, who are evidently backed by Pakistan’s ISI. Chugh said it was a clear sign of frustration from the terrorists following the peaceful completion of the Assembly elections. He assured that the nefarious designs of Pakistan-backed terrorists would be decisively defeated, as security forces have been adequately strengthened on the basis of zero tolerance towards terrorism to protect the lives of the people.
Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta condemned the ghastly terror attacks in Gagangir and accused Pakistan of designing these despicable acts of violence. He was addressing a meeting of BJP leaders here at party headquarters. He said that whosoever has carried out these horrendous acts will have to pay a big price as the Government will track them down and ensure that they get a befitting punishment under law of the land. He said that it is crucial that the stakeholders in J&K including all political parties should rise above the politics and stand collectively like a rock against those trying to disrupt peace.
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari while expressing profound grief over the loss of seven precious lives said, “The brutal attack on defenseless and vulnerable individuals reflects the worst form of cowardice. The perpetrators have displayed a complete disregard for human lives.” He added, “This terror attack appears to have been carried out to disrupt the prevailing peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the security agencies to ensure the perpetrators of this heinous attack are nabbed and brought to justice.
Led by the Manish Sahni, president of Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K, Shiv Sainiks gathered at Indira Chowk in Jammu and burnt the effigy of Pakistan and TRF, terming the killing of 7 innocent and unarmed people by terrorists in Ganderbal as a cowardly act. Sahni said that the series of target killings in Jammu and Kashmir is not stopping. He demanded strong military action and surgical strikes on the hideouts and launching pads of terrorists in the border of Pakistan, which is running a factory of terrorism.
Chairman of Peoples Democratic Front (PDF), Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, in a statement today condemned the terror attack on innocent civilians, causing instant killing of 7 people. He expressed heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for early recovery of the injured persons in the gruesome incident. He said that resurge of terror incidents across J&K is a cause of serious concern and urged for revamping security grid to avoid killing of innocent people and soft targets.
President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) Jammu, Arun Gupta strongly condemned the cowardice act of terrorists, in a meeting of the office bearers of the Chamber held today. A two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the departed souls. The meeting also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons. Arun Gupta urged upon the administration that the terrorists, their supporters should be identified and eliminated to make J&K a terrorism free UT. He also urged upon the world community to censor Pakistan who openly supports and promotes terrorism in J&K.
Condemning the gruesome incident, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) in a statement said that the killing of these innocent persons is aimed at vitiating the peace and tranquility in J&K. The Government should order a high level enquiry into this incident, and fix liability for lack of security for personnel engaged in the construction of this prestigious project, the statement added. The KCCI also expressed solidarity with the kith and kin of the victims.
Purnima Sharma, spokesperson BJP J&K and former deputy mayor of Jammu, expressed her deep anguish over the loss of seven lives in terror attack in Ganderbal. In a statement she emphasized, “This heinous act of terrorism is aimed at disrupting the harmony and progress that Kashmir has been witnessing. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, and I extend my deepest condolences to them in this hour of grief.”
Dr Parneesh Mahajan, Convenor of the Department of Training, BJP J&K, described the incident as an act of “inhumanity and cowardice”. He said, “The killing of innocent workers and a dedicated medical professional is not just an attack on individuals, but on the very fabric of our society. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have lost their loved ones.” We stand united, stronger than ever, in our fight against these forces of terror,” he added.
J&K president of Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Rajiv Mahajan expressed profound sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to national security and the protection of citizens. “The senseless killing of innocent individuals attacks the very fabric of our society,” he stated. Mahajan called for swift action against the perpetrators, urging authorities to intensify efforts to maintain peace and security in the region. He highlighted the need for community resilience and solidarity in the face of such violence.
Strongly condemning the heinous terror attack at Ganderbal, Kashmir Constructional Workers Union (KCWU) said there is no place for such inhuman acts in a civilized society. Terming the killings as “barbaric”, Union leaders Abdul Rashid Pandit and Manzoor Ahmad Bhat said that such incidents must be condemned in the strongest possible terms and we must raise voice against such brutal killings. They urged the authorities to provide compensation to the victim families and provide best treatment to the injured workers.
Jammu Warriors Front (JWF) chairman Rajesh Gupta strongly condemned the Gagangir attack, terming it as cowardly and unforgivable crime. “I strongly condemn the horrific terror attack on innocent labourers in Gagangir, I offer my humble tribute to the martyred labourers and extend my deepest condolences to their families during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured for a swift and full recovery,” he said in a statement.
Tasleema Akhter, chairperson of the Association of Terror Victims in Kashmir (ATVK) and a Kashmiri Human Rights activist, strongly condemned the brutal killings in Ganderbal. She stated, “Pakistan’s insatiable obsession with disrupting normalcy in J&K knows no bounds. The brutal killing of these innocents is a stark reminder of Pakistan’s continued involvement in fueling terrorism in the Valley.” She urged the international community to take stronger action against Pakistan’s role in perpetuating violence in the region.
The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta took out a protest rally in Jammu city by burning the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif against the cowardly terror attack in Ganderbal. Gupta condemned the attack and described the attack as a “dastardly”. He said that nation should stand together and no politics should be played over the attack.
The ‘Group of Concerned Citizens (GCC) J&K’ in a statement released today said the GCC “condemned the brutal attack ” and called for an expeditious inquiry to bring the perpetrators to book. The GCC feared such dastardly attempts to derail peace and amity in J&K were aimed to thwart the resurrection of democratic institutions and public participation processes unleashed with recent Parliamentary and Assembly elections. Praying for eternal peace to the departed souls, the Group expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Chanakya Chowk (Jammu) while condemned the terror attack said this “inhumane and despicable act” of targeted violence will not deter India from building key infrastructure projects in J&K. “Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. We wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the Sabha said in a statement.
Prominent social and political activist Rishi Kilam also strongly condemned the terrorist attack and killing 7 people. In his statement, Rishi Kilam expressed his sympathies with the families of the killed labourers. He said, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families who had come here just to earn bread and butter for their families back home.”
While strongly condemning the terror attack, All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) stressed up the need to ensure safety and security of package employees working in the valley. In a statement, the president AMEAK Rubon Saproo made an appeal to the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister that the Government must take every possible step to protect package employees from becoming target of the anti national elements.
AMEAK (Displaced) also condemned the terror attack of Gagangir. In its meeting of the Association held today, president of AMEAK (Displaced), Satish Raina said this is a second such incident of targeted killing in a week in Kashmir. He appealed the UT administration to take serious not of the security concerns of the employees in the light of the prevailing security scenario.
Political leader Vivek Bali, in a statement issued today, expressed his deep sorrow and condolences to the families of the victims, calling the attack a “despicable act of cowardice.” He appealed to the Government to provide immediate financial assistance to the family of the deceased and each injured person in best possible way.
Sunil Dimple, president of Mission Statehood, led an anti-Pakistan rally on Janipur road in Jammu, against the innocent killings in Ganderbal. The protesting activists burnt Pakistan effigies and flags. Addressing the protectors, Sunil Dimple demanded CBI or NIA enquiry in the brutal attack. He questioned Prime Minister and Home Minister of India as to why such terrorist attacks are taking place after the abrogation of Article 370.
