JAMMU, Oct 13: Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday hit hard on Bhartiya Janta Party for prolonged extension of proxy rule in Jammu and Kashmir creating a state of political uncertainty and now issuing statements and orders for inclusion of outsiders as voters which is creating further political unrest.
Addressing a press conference, former Minister and senior AAP leader, Harsh Dev Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir was going through a proxy rule of BJP from last four years which was getting extended and BJP Government was not paying any concern towards restoration of democracy in terms of elected Government in J&K.
Accompanied by senior leaders Yashpaul Kundal and TS Tony, Harsh Dev Singh said that everyone in Jammu and Kashmir was expecting Assembly polls at the earliest so that they could have an elected political Government of their own but BJP was extending its proxy role for its vested interests creating situation of political and social unrest, confusion and uncertainty.
Harsh Dev Singh also drew attention towards the order issued by District Election Officer Jammu two days ago authorising Tehsildars for inclusion of voters who had one year stay in Jammu and then unofficially withdrawing the same.
“Government is doing nothing except issuing such dictatorial orders every day and taking them back next day and aim of this all is to delay and deny elections in J&K,” he said and asked the Government to clear the air on this entire issue and make a statement regarding this entire mess created on the name of inclusion of outsiders as voters with the objective of changing the demography of the UT.
AAP leader and DDC member TS Tony said that Bhartiya Janta Party is itself creating this mess for inclusion of outside voters as it has understood the political dynamics in Jammu and Kashmir where people are ready to show exit door to BJP for damaging the UT, earlier a state, in all possible manner.
He said, “Outside voters mess is nothing else but an attempt to ride over them in polls as BJP has understood the pulse of locals who will teach them a lesson.
Senior AAP leader Yashpaul Kundal on the other hand said that an Assembly election is an immediate need of hour in Jammu and Kashmir to end the prevailing crisis and to restore the democratic rights of people.
He said that Government held public participated District Development Council elections after completion of necessary preparations in few weeks but is denying popular Govt in J&K on the pretext of delimitation as well as summary revision.
