Linking investment with demographic change most unfortunate

JAMMU, Dec 28: Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while condemning the comments of NC and PDP leaders on investments in UT, said that it is indeed most unfortunate that two main regional political parties have totally turned issueless and are seen confined to oppose and criticise every decision, policy and programme of the Government at the Centre and in the Union Territory.
Balbir said that right from the historic day of abrogation of Article 370 to holding first ever Real Estate Summit in Jammu, the leaders of these parties have become habitual of opposing and crticising everything.
He said that the signing of 39 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for investment of rupees 18,300 crore, between the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and various leading real estate companies in residential, commercial, hospitality and finance sectors, will prove to be a bonanza. It is really a big achievement to convince these companies to invest here and will serve many purposes, particularly employment generation at local level and development.
Balbir Ram said that being responsible opposition parties, the NC and PDP, should have welcomed the outcome of this Real Estate Summit but their top leaders have alleged that it is being done to change the demography of the region, which is most unfortunate and condemnable.
The BJP spokesperson also appreciated the signing of a tripartite agreement between the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), State Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) under the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Government of Jammu and Kashmir to train and certify 10,000 construction workers and agreed that it will equip these workers with necessary and industry relevant skills to ensure quality constructions, enhanced employability, higher wages and better livelihood.
