Polls must to end uncertainty in J&K: Gupta

JAMMU, Aug 20: Jammu Warriors Front (JWF) chief, Rajesh Gupta here today claimed that people are fed up with Center’s administration in J&K and called for Assembly election soon to end the political uncertainty in the region.
“There was no change on ground. We were hopeful that the situation would improve but it did not,” Gupta said adding: “Instead, confusion has increased. We are living in a vacuum because no Assembly election has taken place in more than nine years.”
The JWF president said that Central Government had promised to hold Assembly elections after completion of delimitation exercise but even after the Commission submitted its report long back, election is yet to be announced.
“I have not heard if the next step will take place or not after the completion of the ongoing special summary revision of electoral rolls…they need to end this uncertainty and tell us when the elections are going to take place,” he continued.
