Polluted city

Sir,
With a bit of initiative, we could do wonders but again who will bell the cat is the big problem. Very recently, Delhi has got the distinction of being the most polluted city of the world. We do feel that due to heavy traffic turnover on over burdened Jammu roads , the air we breathe  is getting polluted . We can feel it as our eyes and nose give feeling that too much of smoke is around. Besides other causes , main one is  clouds of smoke emitting private vehicles — passenger vehicles, trucks, tractors , and even old model scooters and two wheelers. These vehicles are not tuned occasionally to be fit to ply on roads. Their engines are emitting more carbon dioxide and other gases which is injurious to our health.
Huge clouds of smoke emitted by such vehicles on roads do not attract the attention of the Traffic Police, Pollution Control Board and other concerned authorities. What are we giving to our younger generation, the children –  polluted   air to breathe only to render them sick and weak.
Yours etc
