Jammu’s air quality remains unsatisfactory, if not poor.Apart from well known factors, Pollution shall be all the more severe in forthcoming marriages and festivals due to bursting of firecrackers. It causes respiratory problems to all especially aged and children. May I suggest :-
* Blanket ban on factories,if any in our state, manufacturing firecrackers
* Ban on import of firecrackers in Lakhanpur itself
* Stopping sale of firecrackers
* Heavy penalty to those still bursting crackers Jammuites will heave a sigh of relief if these measures are complied with immediately. Administration should not remain a mute spectator. Early warning system needs also to be installed.
