Addressing media persons at the dharna venue, AJKPAA Jammu president, Atul Sudan, said that the department deliberately used the term academic arrangements to deprive them from the regularization benefits of J&K Civil Services Act 2010.
He said that the department is doing human rights violation with them as they are equally qualified as permanent staff they do equal work as them even they share more teaching load and do extra duties and works also which are allotted to them but still department of technical education pays just Rs 6500 and Rs 7000 to engineer graduates, post graduates and PHD scholars. “It is Judgment of Supreme court that equal pay should be given for equal work”, he added.
Sudan said that department from last more than 5years is carrying out the process of salary enhancement but till now nothing has been done for them. He said that they are facing social and economic injustice as they are such highly qualified and are properly selected on merit basis but are paid even less than a labor. He said that from last many years they are running pole to pole for their demands but nothing was done for them.
The association members said they will continue their protest dharna until the department gives them written assurance for their regularization policy. They appealed the Chief Minister to intervene and to end up the social and economical injustice with them.
Meanwhile, the sit in protest in the Kashmir division continues resulting complete suspension of class work in all 24 Government Polytechnics of whole J&K.
