JAMMU, Mar 2: The central executive body of J&K Polytechnic Faculty Association (JKPFA) met here today under the leadership of Er Ajay Thappa and appealed Lt Governor G C Murmu to issue necessary order for implementation of AICTE norms in Polytechnics across J&K.
Thappa said that lack of clear policy in employment, outdated syllabus, training equipment and machineries, communication gap between the Industry & Technical Education, no planned Financial/Administrative assistance for the timely conduct of industrial training are among the various important issues which require immediate attention from Administrative Depart<-ment to overcome the ailing situation of Technical Education.
Er Shokat Ali, chief spokesperson JKPFA, lamented that the department has no policy for Assured Carrier Progression (ACP), No Time Bound Promotion, No configuration of official (Lecturer, HoD, Principal) and many have worked on the same designation since joining the department for more than 20 years. The only possible way out to these issues is the implementation of AICTE norms, he added.
Er Ajay Thappa said that with the emergence of Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory, the polytechnic staff member were quite hopeful that the present Government would address their demands and the implementation of AICTE norms will be done on priority as it is already done in other UTs/States of India.
Those who were present in the meeting, included Zia Ul Haq Kohli, K S Bhatti, Neena Dulloo, Pawan Kumar and others.
