Polytechnic students from Chenab Valley protest against Technical Board

JAMMU, Apr 1:  Polytechnic students from Chenab Valley today held a protest demonstration demanding conduct of practical examinations at their native colleges.
The protesting students assembled near the Press Club Jammu and raised slogans in support of their demand and against the Technical Education authorities.
Students from Doda and Kishtwar Polytechnics, led by Prakash Singh Dadwal, District president NSUI unit Kishtwar and Mehran Anjum Mir, District coordinator NSUI unit Doda, took part in the protest.
“We were informed by college officials that our exams are going to held from March 30 and irrespective of bad weather and damaged road connectivity we reached Jammu on March 29 after facing hardship but unfortunately the board officials again said that now the exams will be conducted from April 6 onwards. We are in shock as we have no money to eat and reside here till April 6,” they said.
Prakash Singh Dadwal sought to know that when theory examination of the students are conducted in their native colleges then why their practical exams are being conducted at Jammu.
A number of students belong to economical weaker section and if it is necessary to conduct the practical exams in Jammu then proper facilities should be given to students by providing them free stay, food and travel, he added.
The students and NSUI activists, who participated in the protest, included Mohd Irfan, Yaseen Mir, Majid Majeed, Aquib Bin Javed Rashid Zargar Daljeet Manhas, Zea Khaleel Mohd Aslam, Haris Amin, Yassir Arfat, Muzaffar Hussain, Sheedab Zargar, Abhisheik Jamwal, Ajaz Ahmed, Zeshan Iqbal, Mazmil Hussain, Raqib Hussain, Vaseek Raja Sumit Kumar, Nikhil Parihar and others.
