Polytechnic students protest for carry-on opportunity

JAMMU, Dec 6:  Demanding carry-on opportunity for the Polytechnic students, whose answer scripts were lost in floods and declared failed, NSUI held a strong protest demonstration outside the office of Secretary, J&K State Board of Technical Education, here today.
The protesting NSUI activists and the Polytechnic students raised slogans in support of their demands and also submitted a memorandum to the authorities highlighting their grievance as well as the demand.
While addressing the protesters, NSUI State president Neeraj Kundan alleged that the State Board of Technical Education was backtracking from its promise of providing carry-on opportunity for the students whose answer scripts had washed away in floods.
The protesting students alleged that the colleges have already charged admission fee from them but they were not being allowed admission. Further, the students whose answer script were lost in flood, have been marked as absent in the result for no fault of their.
Reiterating their demand for carry-on to ensure that affected students may not suffer, the NSUI warned to intensify the protest if authorities do not take a positive decision on the issue.
A number of students from different Polytechnics had assembled near the Bikram Chowk for holding the protest demonstration.
Others who addressed the  protest demonstration included Avijyot Singh,  Sunny Parihar,  Narendra Bhargav and   Naresh Digra.
