JAMMU, Dec 16: The Pooja- Archana as usual has started at holy shrine of Jawala Ji at Khrew in South Kashmir district of Pulwama which was gutted in devastating fire on December 13 with devotees performing daily rituals in the Shrine from today.
The Shrine has been temporarily restored for Pooja by the Karsevaks of Jawala Ji Samiti Khrew and Jeewan Sahib Trust Khrew Ladhoo.
The entire KP community was shocked after the shrine gutted in devastating fire as Shri Jawala Ji Shrine is the abode of Godess Jawala – the presiding deity of Kashmiri Pandits settled in all over globe.
Soon after the fire incident the volunteers of the Jawala Ji Samiti Khrew led by its president M K Raina and Ravi Ji Bhat a local youth activist and representative of Jeewan Sahib Trust reached the shrine to start Karseva in close coordination with Army men of 50 RR guarding the shrine as well as local youth.
Meanwhile both Jawala Ji Samiti and Jeewan Sahib Trust has appealed the Government to start the construction work of the holy shrine on pattern of Charar-e-Sharief Shrine and Peer Dastgeer Sahib Shrine on war footing basis.
They have demanded immediate passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places Bill so that all the shrines of Hindus in Valley are protected and preserved. They also demanded a probe to investigate the failure of the management as no preventive fire fighting equipment and water was available in the Shrine for fighting the fire and save this valuable and centuries old religious monument.
The two organizations also made an appeal to entire community to come forward in rebuilding the shrine so that its past glory is restored.
They also commended the role of Commanding Officer 50 R R, local youth and Fire Services in protecting the holy Shila.
