JAMMU, Apr 6: Ahead of annual 30th Holy Chhari Yatra, special pooja was performed at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple here today.
The pooja was performed by Ajatshatru Singh, Ranvijay Singh, Trustees of J&K Dharmarth Trust and Gulchain Singh Charak, President Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajatshatru Singh expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the sacred Chhari Yatra.
He emphasized the deep-rooted spiritual connection that this annual pilgrimage fosters among devotees, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and community.
Ajatshatru Singh also appealed to the people of the Jammu region to wholeheartedly participate in this sacred Yatra and make it a grand success.
Gulchain Singh Charak underscored the importance of preserving and promoting such age-old traditions, which serve as pillars of cultural identity and communal harmony.
“Through rituals like the Chhari Yatra, we not only pay homage to our divine heritage but also strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and unity within our society,” he added.
The holy yatra will commence on April 7 from Shri Ranbireshwar Temple and will be taken to ancient Umapati Mahadev Temple in Purmandal.
On its route to Purmandal, the Holy Chhari Yatra will pass through Shri Raghunath Ji Temple where Pooja of the Holy Mace will be performed and thereafter it shall be taken to Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
After performing a special Pooja at Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, the Holy Mace will be taken in a specially made and decorated Rath followed by huge procession of devotees which would also pass through different temples enroute to Purmandal.
At Purmandal, this Holy Mace will be received by the Deputy Commissioner, Samba, and President Dharmarth Trust and other officials at Purmandal wherein again a special Pooja of Holy Mace shall be performed. Thereafter, a Grand Bhandara shall be arranged for all devotees.
Brig RS Langeh, President of J&K Dharmarth Trust, Ashok Kumar Sharma (SSP Retd), Secretary, Mahant Rishiban and staff of Dharmarth Trust were also present during the event.
