Poonch resident arrested for smuggling bovines

RAMBAN, Jan 13: Banihal police arrested a man hailing from District Poonch for smuggling bovine animals.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near T Chowk and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02AH-5977.
During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified as Yaqoob Hussain Gujjar, son of Mohammad Aslam, a resident of District Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 5/19 under section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Wani and assisted by SI Shamim Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
