Poonch Terror Attack: Condemnation continues to pour in

JAMMU, Dec 23: Condemnation continued to pour in over the Poonch Terror Attack in which five jawans were martyred and two others were hurt.
The Office Bearers of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Arun Gupta, President CCI today strongly condemned the terrorist attack on an Army Vehicle at Dhatyar Morh between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz.
During a meeting, Arun Gupta said that fundamentalists of all hues are worried with the peace, tranquillity and brotherhood between different communities and want to destabilize the brotherhood. He also added that Chamber firmly believes that people of Jammu and Kashmir shall not get trapped in their nefarious designs and will firmly uphold the credentials of secularism.
The members saluted the brave Soldiers who sacrificed their lives while defending the motherland and also prayed for the speedy recovery of injured and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
A two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the departed Souls.
The J&K National Conference also expressed profound grief and outrage over the tragic incident in Surankote area of district Poonch.
In a joint statement, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu, and Ajaz Jan, Provincial President JKNC Youth Jammu, offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers.
They also strongly condemned the killing of civilians in Poonch, emphasizing the need for a thorough and transparent judicial inquiry, led by a High Court judge, to investigate the incident and ensure swift justice for the victims.
Additionally, they demanded an immediate compensation of Rs. 50 lakh and a Government job for a family member of each civilian killed, as well as Government employment for a suitable member of each civilian family.
They reiterated NC’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the families of the martyrs and the affected communities in this time of immense sorrow and loss.
The senior NC leaders urged the Government to take immediate and decisive steps to enhance security measures in vulnerable areas.
In a statement issued National Conference Additional General Secretary and Former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra also condemned the barbaric terror attack on the armed forces personnel in the Poonch Sector, saying that time has come to send a terse message to the perpetrators of violence that such mechanism would not be tolerated anymore.
In a statement issued, Sadhotra said, “Our hearts go to the families, who have lost their dear ones in call of their duties.”
He saluted the valour and heroism of the security forces and the police in fighting terrorism, saying they are offering supreme sacrifices for integrity and sovereignty of the country, besides saving the lives of the people and said terrorism has no place in a civilized world and such type of inhuman acts should only firm up the resolve of the people, irrespective of caste, creed and religion to fight unitedly the scourge of terror, which has emerged as a big challenge to humanity.
Meanwhile, Chairman Peoples Democratic Front & former Minister Hakeem Yaseen has expressed shock and sorrow over the killing three civilians in Baffliaz of Poonch District.
He has urged the Government to ensure safety and security to innocent civilians during various anti militancy operations.
PDF Chairman has expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and has demanded a judicial inquiry into killing of the three civilians.
Social activists civil society member, Kishtwar Shamsher Singh Bhandari has also strongly condemned the attack and urged Govt to take strong measures in combating terrorism from hilly areas of Jammu region.
