This has reference to the news item ‘LAHDC up in arms against Union Govt’ DE Aug 23.
The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), it is reported, is fuming and fretting over poor BSNL service in remote region of Leh in J&K. The people of Ladakh have voiced their grievances before the concerned authorities but their pleas have gone unheard so far. This has caused great resentment among people here.
While BSNL is boasting of providing excellent communication service in the State, and the same time claiming to be leading service provide it has miserably failed to provide effective service in the area.
The launch of Video Telephony Service at BSNL headquarter in Srinagar a day earlier before the above mentioned news item was published can do no good to people of Leh when they do not have even the basic service available.
The anger among people can be gauged from the decision of the LAHDC authorities to hold protest rally in the Leh city.
At a time when Internet and mobile phones are becoming a part of our daily life, people in Leh feel cut off from the rest of the world due to poor BSNL Service.
