Poor people worst sufferers of CFV: Rana

MENDHAR, June 8: Terming poor people as worst sufferers of ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mendhar Javed Rana today said that there is dire need of providing a proper telecom connectivity in border villages where there is no telecommunication network even in 21st century.
He said this while interacting with people during his visit to forward villages of Sagra in Mendhar which witnessed heavy mortar shelling few days back.
Accompanied by local leaders and Chairperson of Youth National Conference from Mankote block, MLA visited Sagra, Balnoi and other areas near Line of Control which were recently targeted by Pakistan with heavy mortar shelling.
Locals of the area in their interaction with MLA raised issues including provision of alternate and safe residential locations, construction of bunkers, delay in availability of fresh ration cards, making Sagra Niabat functional in village only, prevailing power crisis, non availability of mobile communication network, poor state of affairs in local high school Kashti and lack of punctuality among teachers.
While interacting with local population, MLA assured to get their problems resolved.
He also called Central Government for immediate start the construction work of bunkers in border villages besides allotment of plots at safer locations.
He appealed to the Union Government to rope in a project to provide telecom facility to all border villages and resume talks with Pakistan to ensure that relations get cordial and hostility on borders is prevented.
MLA also asked State Government as well as Central Government to frame special recruitment policy for the youth of State especially with special quota for the youth of Rajouri and Poonch in recruitment of police, paramilitary and army.
He also passed directions to resume work on some local projects, which are lying closed for sometime.
