Poor performance of Poonch shocking: BADC

JAMMU, June 24: Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference (BADC), an organization working for the welfare of residents of border areas, has expressed serious concern over the poor performance of district Poonch in recently released edition of District Good Governance Index (DGGI), wherein out of 20 districts of J&K, district Poonch attained 2nd last position(19th) just above Reasi.
Ranking of a district under District Good Governance Index(DGGI) is indicator and parameters to measure the performance of a District with regard to Agriculture & Allied sector, Commerce & Industry, Human Resource Development, Public Health Sectors, Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Social Welfare & Development, Financial Inclusion, Legal & Public Safety, Environment, Citizen-Centric Governance.
Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, Chairman of BADC and former Vice Chancellor while giving his reaction over the poor performance of district Poonch in District Good Governance Index has requested the Deputy Commissioner Poonch to fix responsibility of all the departments and officers so that next year border district Poonch brings out some better results and provide better services to its people.
The former VC also offered all the help of his organization to district administration Poonch to hold any training and capacity building program for officers.
