JAMMU, July 22: The Akhil Bhartiya Poorv Sainik Sewa Parishad (ABPSSP) is organizing Kargil Shoriya (Valour) Yatra in connection with 25th year of Kargil war to pay tributes to Kargil martyrs.
This was stated by president of the Parishad, Brig (retd) Balbir Singh Sambyal during a press conference here, today along with other members of the Parishad.
He said this will be a unique rally to pay tributes to martyrs of Kargil war who laid down their lives for the sake of nation. He said though rally will be organized by the Parishad but people from all walks of life will take part in it to pay tributes to the national heros who laid down their lives for the sake of country by exhibiting exemplary valour and courage to force the enemy to beat a hasty retreat who faced a humiliated defeat in this limited war.
Brig Sambyal appealed all patriotic and nationalist people to participate in the rally which will be a befitting tribute to our brave-hearts who gave supreme sacrifices for the nation.
He said it was the first war of its kind in which neighboring Pakistan violated all the principals of war. “On one hand Pakistan refused to take its dead soldiers and Indian Army performed their last rites in accordance to the religion of their country and on the other hand they mutilated the bodies of Indian soldiers showing the worst kind of wickedness and having no respect of war conventions,” he added.
He demanded that Pakistan should have been tried in International Court of Justice for war crimes.
Brig Sambyal said that Tiger Hill victory is the story of devotion and patriotism of our brave soldiers towards their motherland. He said the Indian Army brave-hearts fought this battle under hostile conditions and for honour and dignity of their country they won this war making us all proud of their valour and courage exhibited them in this war.
Brig Sambyal said it is our bounding duty that we pay glowing tributes to the heros of Kargil war who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
He said the Yatra will start from JDA Parking Old Bus Stand and pass via Gumat turn towards Swami Vivekananda Chowk, Raghunath Bazar , City Chowk, Shalimar, Indira Chowk and culminate at JDA Parking on return.
