DODA, Apr 18: Police destroyed poppy cultivation in different areas.
As per police sources, acting on specific information through reliable sources that some farmers in Seel Bhandas and Bagla areas had grown poppy plants in their land.
Acting immediately on the receipt of this information, a team from Police Station Doda under the supervision of Jaswant Singh, DySP Headquarters Doda reached the targeted area and destroyed the illegal cultivation of poppy at various locations in the presence of Executive Magistrates 1st Class Doda.
Police have registered FIRs against the cultivators of poppy and opium.
Doda Police warned the farmers to desist from such illegal/prohibited cultivation, else stringent action would be taken, if any land owner is found involved in such prohibited cultivation.
