UDHAMPUR, May 14: In two separate successes, Udhampur Police today seized 1.2 kg poppy straw and 38 pouches of illicit liquor from the accused persons.
Based on reliable information, a police party from of Police Station Udhampur intercepted two suspicious people who were travelling on foot near Bus Stand, Udhampur. During their thorough search, Police recovered 1kg and 200 gm poppy straw from them. Police seized the poppy straw and arrested the accused person namely Romesh Kumar, resident of locality near CEO office Udhampur and Anil Kumar of Domail Udhampur.
From the same area, Police arrested a bootlegger and recovered 38 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession. The accused, namely Narander Kumar of Puktrayan in Ramnagar, was arrested on the spot while the liquor pouches were seized.
Two separate cases have been registered in this connection at Udhampur Police Station.
