Post Offices to sell Greeting Cards

Jammu, Dec 18: Adding another feather to its cap, Department of Posts has launched Greeting Post Service in the State. With Greeting Post, a new range of delightful greeting cards has been brought to the people of State by India Post. This was disclosed by John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu and Kashmir while addressing a press conference here today.
“It is not only convenience that these cards offer, but a lot more. Through Greeting Post you can express yourself perfectly on every occasion, festival or event. Few would miss the warmth reflected in their beautiful designs and pleasing colours which undoubtedly make them an absolute joy to receive” said John Samuel, adding that Greeting Post service is available in all the Head Post Offices and important Post Offices across the State.
CPMG said that the cards being sold by the India Post are designed by UNICEF, Help Age and Cry and priced between rupees Fifteen and Twenty. “It is not that these cards only express your feelings but also contribute for the social cause as these being designed by the organizations working for the humanity and part of an amount will be gone to these institutions.” He said that special arrangements have been made for faster transmission and delivery of these cards.
Mr. Samuel intimated that customized cards will also be got prepared for State Government, Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings etc and they may get the personalized cards that will be a value attraction free of cost.
He further informed that Gandhi Nagar head Post Office with extended public area and upgraded facilities will be inaugurated in January 2013. Gandhi Nagar Post Office is the hub of many postal services in Jammu and with the upgradation of the facilities there people of Jammu will get better Postal Services.
