Postal GDS employees’ strike enters fourth day

DODA, Mar 13: The strike of the All India Postal GDS Employees Union entered fourth day, today.
Continuing their strike, hundreds of the postal Grameen Dak Sewaks (GDS) employees today assembled in front of the Head Post Office of the district and held a massive demonstration in support of their demands.
The postal GDS employees are on indefinite strike all over India from 10th of this month in support of their long pending demands which include regularization of these GDS employees and their inclusion in the Seventh Central Pay Commission.
Addressing the striking employees, Bashir Ahmed Lone, president, EDS employees Union, Sub Division Doda, reiterated the demands of the employees and urged the authorities concerned to take the issue with the Government of India for redressal at the earliest possible.
He said that it is unfortunate that the Government is not sincere towards the genuine demands of 3,30,000 GDS postal employees across the country.
Other employees’ leaders who led the strike included Sunil Kumar and Chuni Lal.
