Sir,
It is high time to think what the recent Government order or announcement regarding postponement of exams can result. The postponement of exams is a big question and creates doubts, about the credibility and development in the education sector in the State. It is a politically motivated decision. The syllabus was complete, the date sheets were published and students were busy in preparation. Suddenly at the cost of flood the exams were delayed till march. The exams could have been conducted in October ending or in early November. This was also announced on radio. Suddenly, the next day the same announcement was cancelled at the pretext of floods.
Same is not the case in other States as far as education and career building is concerned. In Andhra Pradesh in recent agitation of Telangana the teachers had to attend the schools on Sundays and even on gazetted holidays to compensate the loss. But here in J&K, especially in Valley, opposite is the case. Here education can wait at the cost of other meagre matters. Now the schedule has been changed. Then it should be a permanent and regular affair. Hope the Government will not change it back to October next year. This disturbs and adversely affects the students and teachers.
Yours etc.,,,
Aneel Koul
