Poswal seeks CM intervention to save career of tribal girls

JAMMU, Sept 16: Ishfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, tribal leader and national executive member of ST Morcha BJP today urged the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his deputy Dr. Nirmal Singh to intervene in a serious matter regarding admission of 75 inmates of Girls Gujjar Hostel, Rajouri in a private academy.
In a statement, Poswal asked what was the point in having a tribal affairs ministry and department when these poor girls are forcibly made to take admission in a private school just to benefit the proprietor of institution.
“If the Tribal Affairs Ministry is not able to take care of such hapless children, I don’t think it should exist on the ground. The authorities must ensure that the ministry and department meant for safeguarding the interests of these poor children either deliver or it should be wound up for all times to come,” he added.
As reported by the Excelsior, Chief Education Officer Rajouri has directed the Principal of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Rajouri and Headmasters of a Govt High and Middle School in the town to immediately issue Transfer Certificate (TCs) to these children just to facilitate their admission in a Private School at Choudhary Nad, about 5 Kms from the town.
