Poswal seeks support of R’sthan, Haryana Gujjars for community in J&K

HARYANA, Jan 20 :Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha president, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman has appealed the Gujjars of Haryana and Rajasthan to come in support of the community in Jammu and Kashmir which has been facing lot of apathy at the hands of State Government.
Addressing Veer Gujjar Maha Sammelan at Nangal Chowdhary, Mohinder Garh, Haryana, he said that Gujjar community in J&K has been demanding political reservation since 1991 but the Government was least bothered. He alleged that the funds from the Center meant for the welfare of Gujjars under Tribal Sub Plan are not utilized for the purpose. The funds do not percolate to the ground level as a result the Gujjars have remained backward, he said.
Mr Poswal further said that the J&K Government should take a leaf from the States like Rajasthan where the ST communities like Meena, Dhanka and others are being given the cent percent benefits of all welfare schemes.
According to a press release, the prominent Gujjar leaders from across Rajasthan and Haryana assured active support to Poswal for betterment of the community in J&K.
