JAMMU, Oct 27: Senior BJP leader and National executive member of ST Morcha, Ishfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, today urged NITI Aayog to uplift the socio-economic conditions of ignored tribal people especially Gujjars in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the Accession Day, according to Poswal, he held a meeting with B K Saraswat, Member NITI Ayog at New Delhi.
“Despite huge funding from the Government of India, it is unfortunate that tribal people mostly the Gujjars are not receiving a tangible share of money and are still living a miserable life devoid of roads, power, schools and health care facilities,” Poswal told Saraswat.
The BJP leader urged the NITI Aayog for a separate sub-plan for Gujjars. “There should be a separate sub-plan for the Gujjar community to better their lives by providing them basic facilities like power, roads and health care etc,” he added.
