NEW DELHI, Nov 14: In thin trade, potato prices rose by Rs 12.60 to Rs 710.20 per quintal in futures trade today today as traders enlarged positions for the upcoming marriage season demand amid lower arrivals from producing region.
Tight supplies in the physical market restricted arrivals from producing belts further fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in April surged by Rs 12.60, or 1.81 per cent, to Rs 710.20 per quintal in single lot.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators to meet the upcoming marriage season demand amid lower arrivals from producing region mainly pushed up potato futures. (PTI)
