Power consumers get exorbitant bills

JAMMU, Mar 24: People from different areas of Jammu province have expressed resentment after receiving highly excessive power bills from the concerned Power Development Department (PDD).
A delegation of such power consumers today visited the Excelsior office and expressed their concern.
The delegation members also showed their excessive power bills and informed that they visited the office of Electric Division Janipur several times but the concerned officer was not available there to listen to their grievances.
They claimed that the metering process recently done in Jammu has been done in a wrong manner and the department is charging at its own will.
The delegation demanded that fault in the metering should be corrected and the genuine bills should be delivered to the customers.
D.K Koul, Neelam Pandey, Bansi Lal, Jodh Ram, Bushir Ahmed, Pran Nath, Bushan Lal Razdan, Arehana Koul, Avinash, Sham Lal Sharma and Fenku Ram were present in the delegation.
Some of the exorbitant bills shown by the delegation members were of amounts Rs. 41,813, Rs. 22,011, Rs. 21,789 etc for single month.
