POONCH, Mar 30: The power cuts in the month of Ramazan irk the people from Loran, Arai and its adjoining areas of tehsil Mandi in Poonch district.
Locals said that they expect administration to provide all basic facilities during Ramazan month, but due to curtailment of power in the area under Loran receiving station, they are facing problems, especially at the time of Sehri, Iftari and offering prayer.
“We urge Power Development Department to provide electricity at least during these special times so that people do not suffer,” they added.
Authorities said that the load on this station is excess, though we have installed high capacity transformer there also along with Mandi, but that is not functional due to need of some material for which tender was already floated and the process is in its final stage.
“We will make that transformer functional within days after which there will not be any problem regarding power in all areas under that station even after Ramazan and winters as well”, they added.
