JAMMU, July 11: The worst kind of power cuts has made the life of people in Jammu city and its adjoining rural areas miserable and even the fully metered areas are not getting adequate power supply.
This was stated by senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla while interacting with Bhour Kullian residents.
Bhalla claimed that non-clearance of payments to the firms for repairing power transformers has added to public woes in this regard as these firms have refused to work for PDD till they are paid.
“Public is on roads protesting against the Government and the industrialists are also facing worst kind of power crisis,” he claimed adding that for hours together, the forced power shutdown is being imposed on the consumers in scorching hot summer days.
“Students are unable to prepare for the exams and coming entrance tests for professional institutes due to power crisis,” the Congress leader maintained.
He further said that public is paying fatty electricity bills regularly while the PDD has failed to supply adequate power to them.
Bhalla said, while PDD claims to have excelled in providing online service for quick access in disposing off the electricity bills and keeping people updated with power availability in their areas, it has failed to live up to their expectations.
