Power employees’ deputation calls on CS, projects issues

JAMMU, Dec 12: A deputation of Provincial Power Employees Union, Jammu called on the Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo here today and highlighted burning issues of the Power employees in the UT of J&K.
The deputation led by Shakti Gupta, chairman of the Union during meeting projected the pending demands of the Power employees and workers and urged the new Chief Secretary to resolve these issues on priority basis. They pointed out that a few weeks ago, DPC was held in JKPDCL for the posts of Technician I, II, III and IV; Senior Assistant, Junior Assistant, Revenue Superintendent, Draftsman but till today formal orders in this regard have not been issued by the concerned officers. They said Chief Engineer should be directed to issue orders in this regard.
Gupta said all PDD employees either working or retired, should have relaxation of 500 units per month at par with other departments such as Railways, P&T, SRTC etc. He further demanded that PDD should be directed to conduct DPC of all cadres at regular intervals of time for the betterment of the employees and smooth functioning of Govt works.
He demanded that all DDOs should have one Major Head Account for the temporary employees who have been expired while working during duty hours. Modern gadgets be provided to the field staff to contains deaths/ injuries while working and the field staff and linemen should be given the grade of atleast Technician-III.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary who assured to look into their genuine demands.
Senior members of the Union including Sanjeev Bali-president, Anay Gupta, Tarun Gupta, Suresh Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Bharat Bhushan, Gopal Singh and others also accompanied.
