Power employees suspend strike

JAMMU, July 29: The J&K Power employees today suspended their proposed indefinite work boycott call from July 30, on the assurance of Principal Secretary, PDD, Rohit Kansal.
A spokesman of the JKPEECC said that in a meeting of the members of the Coordination Committee including Jaipal Sharma, Chairman, JKPEECC Jammu, Sachin Tickoo, general secretary JKEEGA and Convenor PEECC Jammu, Ashok Kumar Dubey, vice-president JKEEGA, Sanjeev Bali, president PPEU, Deep Mehra, PPEU, Anil Salathia, Lineman and Workers Union, Jasbir Singh ITI Employees ,HD Singh TEF, Tarun Gupta, president, PDEU, Balbir Singh Draftsman Association, Jasbir Singh ITI Employees and Kulbir Singh from EEU, with the Principal Secretary PDD Rohit Kansal, in three rounds and assurance by Principal Secretary to revisit the suspension/attachments of engineers/officials within 15 days, it was decided to suspend strike call.
JKPEEC has been assured that there will be no victimization of PDD engineers and staff on arbitrary and anonymous complaints in public domain. The PEEC expressed gratitude to all cadres who have displayed exemplary unity during the agitational period.
