JAMMU, Apr 11: Northern Region-II of Power Grid today handed over dry ration material to Ved Mandir Balniketan, Amphalla- a school for orphans, destitute and handicapped children.
The grocery material viz. rice, atta, pulses, milk, salt, sugar, cooking oil, bathing soap, tea, turmeric etc was handed over by Sudhir Dhar, Deputy General Manager (Vigilance) to treasurer of Ved Mandir Committee, Alok Kumar Sharma.
The home had requested Power Grid for arranging grocery items as they were having scarcity of these items. The Power Grid administration immediately consented to the request and provided the necessary support to these institutions amid crisis arising out of COVID-19, the administration claimed.
Power Grid, Northern Region-II ensured that no contractual employee or the people in vicinity of its establishments have scarcity of food and essential items. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, its Regional Office Jammu is distributing food packets/groceries to contractual workers, Labourers and needy people at its transmission line offices and substation sites in the entire Region from Leh to Fatehabad.
