JAMMU, Jan 28: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has provided key medical equipments for care of patients in Community Health Centre (CHC), Kartarpur for strengthening the medical infrastructure of the centre.
Vibhay Kumar, Chief General Manager (AM) Power Grid, Northern Region-II handed over the medical equipments to Dr Kuldeep Singh, SMO CHC Kartarpur, in presence of P Biswas Senior GM (Punjab), Power Grid, YCS Rao, General Manager (Jalandhar), Power Grid, Sanjay Kumar Verma, Senior DGM (HR), Power Grid and other senior officials of Power Grid, CHC Kartarpur and Health Department of Kartarpur.
The medical equipments costing Rs 34.13 lakhs, includes one ultrasound scan machine, two mobile ECG Machines, two multipurpose monitors, two Baby open care warmers, two phototherapy machines for baby, one semi auto analyzer incubator for lab, one Centrifusion machine, four crash card trolleys, two operation theater lights, four refrigerators, four window ACs, two beds and ten chairs three seater.
This CSR effort of Power Grid will augment the existing health infrastructure in Kartarpur area and will support the hospital located in Tehsil Kartarpur in District Jalandhar (Punjab) to provide medical services to nearby 136 villages of District Jalandhar and Kapurthala. Since this hospital is on NH-1 it also provides support services to road emergencies. Handing over of these medical equipments will provide great relief to the locality which are dependent on private labs at Jalandhar for such requirements.
