Power Grid to provide consultancy to JKPDC

JAMMU, Mar 11:  Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Central Transmission utility and a Government of India Enterprise is going to provide consultancy services to Jammu Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) for Loop In and Loop Out of one circuit of 400 KV D/C Kishenpur-Wagoora Transmission Line at Pot Head Yard of Baglihar-II Hydro-Electric Project (HEP), planned to generate 450 MW for evacuation of Power in the State.
According to a handout issued by the PGCIL, an agreement in this connection was signed today by Genaral Manager (O&M), KR Suri on behalf of Power Grid and Chief Engineer (Civil), Baglihar HEP, RN Bhat on behalf of JKSPDC in the presence of senior executives from both organizations.
As per the agreement, the scope of work of Power Grid shall include design, engineering, procurement, erection, project management, testing, commissioning, etc. The consultancy fee that will be charged by Power Grid for the project shall be 11% of the total cost, which as per the present estimate works out to Rs 118.217 lakh, the handout said.
In addition to this, additional consultancy fee of Rs 27. 87 lakh shall be payable on account of tower design to Power Grid.
Power Grid is already doing the work of restoration of 132 KV transmission lines in Poonch area damaged in January 2013 due to heavy snowfall and high velocity winds.
