POWERGRID celebrates anniversary of ‘One Nation-One Grid-One Frequency’

JAMMU, Jan 1: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is commemorating its landmark achievement of completion of “One Nation-One Grid-One Frequency”.
POWERGRID celebrated the anniversary of this momentous occasion by organizing number of events. The 70 Sub-stations along with Regional Headquarters were lit up in tricolour to mark this momentous achievement.
People witnessed the projection of a video film that captured benefits of One Nation One Grid One Frequency for better understanding for common man, encapsulating views of eminent personalities of the power sector on this achievement
In Northern Region-II, the functions were organized at Kishenpur (J&K), Moga, Amritsar (Punjab), Panchkulla, Abdullapur (Haryana) and Chamba (HimachalPradesh) Sub-stations besides Regional Head Quarters in Jammu.
Medical camps were organized for communities living in vicinity of these sub-stations. The local population benefited from these medical camps through free health checkups. Plantation drive as part of Jan Bagidhari was also carried out at these locations where locals planted saplings with support of POWERGRID.
At Kishenpur, medical camp was organised at Community Centre, Kishenpur village with support from BMO Dansal. Free medicines were also distributed in the camp. Locals from Kishenpur and surrounding villages benefitted from the camp. Tree plantation was also organised wherein people and doctors etc participated.
