JAMMU, Oct 18: Executive Director Powergrid Northern Region-II S K Sharma handed over an ambulance to Government Medical College , Patiala today in an imprerssive function held at Patiala.
Dr. K.D.Singh, Principal Government Medical College, Patiala received the ambulance from Powergrid in presence of senior doctors of GMC Patiala and senior officers of Powergrid.
Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd. realizing the indispensable role of ambulance services in emergency pre-hospital medical care, patient transfer, ease of access to health services particularly to rural / difficult areas has undertaken initiative of providing ambulances to Government hospitals / Medical colleges / Rural Health Centers as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Powergrid is donating 28 such ambulances to various Govt.Hospitals across the country under its CSR initiative.
Mr Sharma highlighted various CSR activities being undertaken by the Powergrid and stressed on the fact that CSR activities by Powergrid are the manifestation of its commitment to a better future for all and helping the nation in building a sustained and self-dependent social structure. He intimated that two such ambulances have already been handed over Government Medical College, Jammu and SKIMS, Srinagar and one more such ambulance will be handed over at Shimla shortly.
Principal Government Medical College, Patiala expressed his gratitude to Powergrid for its noble gesture and requested Powergrid to continue to support the college.
