JAMMU, June 19: POWERGRID today provided nine oxygen concentrators amounting to Rs 4.5 lakh to District Administration Jammu under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The Oxygen Concentrators were formally handed over to Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg by Executive Director POWERGRID Northern Region-II Kailash Rathore.
This initiative of POWERGRID will help in augmenting health infrastructure of Jammu. It will help increase number of beds with oxygen facility to tackle the emergent situation owing to COVID-19.
Speaking on the occasion, Rathore reiterated commitment of POWERGRID in contributing to general well being of society. He also apprised about such assistance given to various district authorities during COVID -19 situations within the region.
On the behalf of District Administration Jammu, Rakesh Dubey, ADC (Jammu) and Satish Sharma ADC (Jammu) while other senior officials of POWERGRID were also present on the occasion.
POWERGRID is ‘a Maharatna’ Company under Ministry of Power, Government of India. The physical assets of POWERGRID along with its subsidiaries as on date stands at 168,140 km of transmission lines, 252 substations and more than 420,315 MVA of transformation capacity.
With the adoption of latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID maintained average transmission system availability of 99.83%.
