JAMMU, Feb 1: With intent to provide the protective equipment to the medical and non-medical personnel, Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, POWERGRID Northern Region-II handed 15000 surgical masks to Dr Harbaksh Singh, Superintendent, Government Hospital, Sarwal here.
These masks were handed over under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of POWERGRID. On the behalf of the hospital Naveen Bhan, senior pharmacist and other senior officials of POWERGRID were present on the occasion.
This initiative of POWERGRID will help the Government Hospital Sarwal in countering the current wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion, Kailash Rathore reiterated POWERGRID’s commitment in contributing to general well being of society through its CSR initiatives. He also apprised about the assistance provided to various authorities during COVID-19 situations within the region.
Dr Harbaksh Singh lauded the efforts of the POWERGRID and said that this help is of great importance in this time of crisis when all are engaged in the war to defeat corona virus disease.
Under CSR activities, health sector is one of the trust area of POWERGRID especially in the Government hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that creation of medical facilities is important for ensuring that government Hospitals are able to cater to the medical requirements of the general masses.
During last three years, POWERGRID has taken up many CSR initiatives in Jammu province amounting to Rs 1.75 crore.
