JAMMU, June 20: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) today signed two MoUs for construction of 250 bedded POWERGRID Vishram Sadan at AIIMS Bilaspur under CSR.
The first MoU was signed between POWERGRID and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur whereas, the second one was signed between POWERGRID and Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation Limited(HSCC).
Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of POWERGRID, MoUs were signed by Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager (HR) on behalf of POWERGRID, Lt. Col M. Hariharan, Deputy Director (Administration), on behalf of AIIMS, Bilaspur and Pawan Kumar Bhatia, CGM on behalf of HSCC in the presence of Rajesh Kumar, Executive Director, POWERGRID (NRTS-II), Ravi Ranjan, Director (Engineering), HSCC and other senior officers from POWERGRID .
The POWERGRID Vishram Sadan at AIIMS Bilaspur will be spread over an area of 4,641.38 sq metres. It will have four storeys, 250 beds and will be built at an estimated project cost of Rs. 26.75 crores. The Sadan would be equipped with all requisite amenities such as waiting hall, cafeteria and fully equipped rooms / dormitories. As per the MoUs signed the POWERGRID Vishram Sadan shall be completed and handed over by March 2027 for operation to AIIMS, Bilaspur.
The initiative will provide suitable shelter/accommodation to the attendants and patients coming from remote places/villages across the State of Himachal Pradesh and its neighbouring States like Punjab and UT of J&K for medical treatment. The hospital is serving patients from far flung hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh and adjacent States.
POWERGRID as a responsible corporate citizen has already constructed and handed over 7 Vishram Sadans at various hospitals all over India including AIIMS New Delhi, KGMC Lucknow, IGIMS Patna, DMCH Darbhanga, GMCH Guwahati, SSG Vadodara and NIMHANS Bengaluru. POWERGRID has played an important role in the field of rural development, education, healthcare, skill development, environment, drinking water, water conservation and sanitation by contributing to economic and social development across the country with its CSR initiatives costing about Rs 1500 crores.
POWERGRID, Northern Region-II with headquarters in Jammu is having its transmission system spread over in the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Haryana and UT of Chandigarh, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.
