POWERGRID takes initiatives under CSR

JAMMU, May 28: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a ‘Maharatna’ Company under Ministry of Power, Government of India as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility measures, embarked upon many initiatives during the pandemic, providing necessary help for treating COVID 19 patients and sensitizing others about COVID appropriate behaviour.
POWERGRID left no stone unturned for containing the spread of COVID 19 and arranging all possible facilities for the treatment of those affected by COVID 19. In this direction Northern Region-II of POWERGRID took many steps in the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Haryana and UTs J&K and Chandigarh to facilitate the needy during this pandemic.
POWERGRID equipped District Administration, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh with Pulse Oximeters, oxygen cylinders, sanitizers, masks and oxygen regulator amounting to Rs. 3.30 lakh. A blood storage refrigerator has been given to Government Hospital Sarwal in Jammu. In some cases of COVID 19 the infection can be detected only through CT scan or X-ray POWERGRID therefore gave a mobile x-ray unit to Civil Hospital in Moga.
POWERGRID gave masks and an oxygen concentrator to Government Hospital Panchkula.
COVID 19 had affected the villages also in this second wave, POWERGRID gave two oxygen concentrators to gram Panchayat village Damjan near its New Wanpoh Sub-station.
As a preventive measure, sanitisers and masks were distributed to Chief Medical Officer of Fatehabad. POWERGRID also provided masks, PPE kits to primary health Centre Chattergam near Wagoora Sub-station.
