JAMMU, Mar 18: Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) today appealed the Power Development Department to immediate postpone the amnesty scheme due to threat of coronavirus.
PPEU today held an urgent meeting at Green Belt Gandhi Nagar under the chairmanship of Shakti Gupta and Ajaz Kazmi, general secretary of the organisation in which they unanimously decided and appealed to higher authority concerned to immediately postpone the amnesty scheme regarding clearing of all long pending electricity dues.
“As outbreak of COVID-19 has already been declared pandemic across the globe which also endorsed by the J&K Government and regarding this various directions were issued by the Governments to prevent public gathering at any place but unprecedented footfall in the Sub division offices of PDD for the amnesty scheme, is putting the employees at the risk of contamination,” they asserted.
